And HE didn’t even enter our contest!
Category Archives: General Announcements
These are general announcements about A Word with You Press, bits of important news about our operations and company.
Here the editor in chief composes his own entry into our contest (remember, all entries this time around are anonymous.) The trophy, as you can see is huge, meaning there is an incentive for the his Moiness to win it himself to save on the shipping cost. And what will be his Penn (station) name?
Trains. What images they conjure; what memories they evoke! Trains are either the beginning or the end of many, many stories; someone departs, someone arrives. As tragic as Lincoln on a train to Springfield, as horrifying as a train shuttling down the tracks in Poland in the Forties. As adventurous as the Woodie Guthries hopping a freight, as exhilarating as waiting in the station when you get the email she changed her mind. What’s your story?
I asked this guy what happened to the gold earring, but he wouldn’t come clean.

Our wonderful little bird is spreading her wings. Hope her husband doesn’t mind. We can all see it!
Literati. I pulled a story I myself wrote out of the archives. (yes, in addition to snarky comments, I really do write!) Though not written to our “Beneath the Surface” theme, it exemplifies what I am looking for. Here is a nine year old boy being taught how to swim by his father, but beneath the surface he will eventually discover krakens and sharks. My greatest hope for this website and for all who enter story submissions is that they confront in themselves and our society what really goes on beneath the surface of our lives. Great literature digs deep. Can you dig it?
So pleased that you, too, can get into ugly drawers and pretty panties! Here is how!
You want it now? The name? or a little foreplay?
Midnight, Moscow. Deadline. July 15th. Win. Enter. Enter “Again” Again. Kuhl Ed Coonce original Trophy. Your own Website created and hosted by PubPimp. Fame. Worship. Fans. Feedback. 350 words. All built around a single word. AGAIN.
The Bastille was stormed on July 14th. Any idea how many prisoners were freed? Or who the most (in)famous prisoner was? For my amazing mendicants, wishing to be enriched by the experience of winning our contest, it is July 15th, not 14th, of great import! That’s when our contest ends!
We are very , very proud and happy to say that one of our authors won an international prize!
