Declaration of Love by Dora Klinoova
My darling love, I am writing this poem, and YOU are its pearl
I feel your soul; it makes the world around me colorful and radiant. All darkness, sinking feelings, unpleasant thoughts dissolve and disappear when I think about you. Now I really understand the power of love.
My adorable, delightful woman! You have become an outstanding, very talented and dignified person. I sense your light and power, your every cell, every breath and pulse. Don’t rush, let your life be like a dance.
You are so glorious. You are so valuable, priceless. You are beyond any competition.
You will have everything you want. All the abundance from the Universe will come to you. You deserve this; you are unique. You will do whatever your heart desires.
I will give you everything I am able to, my admiration, all the songs that I keep inside of me all my life. I will cherish you until my last sigh. Listen to my magic words. You are the brightest light in me, in my home. You are my juice, my inner song, my sun, my sky, my rosebud. You are my aroma, my essence; you give me the fragrance of life.
You calm me down like quiet music. You set my mind to rest; you assuage my pain.
You are my Mozart and Beethoven; you are my inspiration. You are deep as an ocean. You are a carpet of spring flowers, a field of green grass; with you I breathe as in a meadow.
You are a bonfire, a wind, a bird flying in the blue sky. You are a skylark, whose song awakens at sunrise; you are sunrise itself. You are a high mountain where we can feel the entire Universe.
I love you with all your best and worst qualities. It does not matter to me; I love you as you are. You are my unknown planet, a high ocean tide that can soar to the sky and go back into the deep ocean.
You are a ray shining through the leaves of the tree; you are the warmth in my home and the smell of delicious food. You are the best wine, sparkling champagne, a ripe apple, a grape full of juice. You are the best Parisian perfume.
You are a song I want to sing always. You are full of mysteries and open like an interesting book we read over and over again. You are a princess, I wi i l dress you in velvet, lace and pearls.
You are full of treasures, a diamond shining with all the colors of the rainbow. You are a queen in your soul. You give so much warmth that it will last forever.
It is a blessing to meet you; the person who will be with you will be happy forever. I know this. I want to sink into your unforgettable bliss forever.
I will erect a monument to you, high as the sky, my darling outstanding beautiful lady.

The balcony? “But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief,
That thou her maid art far more fair than she.”

Dora, thanks for sharing such a poetic ode! I like that the person it’s written for is not identified. This opens it up to many possibilities: from the universe to yourself; to a mother, a daughter, a lover, a relative, or a friend. Or even a love note you received years ago. My favorite wondering is that it may be love note from all of us to Life itself!
Such a loving and heartfelt declaration that the turn towards the end, “the person who will be with you will be happy forever” punches us right in the gut. As Auden says, “If equal affection cannot be, let the more loving one be me.”
A love poem as this one lacks nothing to hide… A romantic depth which seems reminiscent of the past …
Your style is emotional candy.
Thanks for sharing Dora.
