A rich handicapped boy, a poor peasant girl, an aging war hero becomes a hero again, and roses that somehow bloom in winter’s snows. This is a story of REAL love.
Taking place in 1574 in Tierary, The Sing Song Child tells the story of two young people who fall in love when both of them have completely different lives.
The book unfolds with Andrew, a wealthy but handicapped boy, and Sophie, a poor peasant girl, seeing each other from a distance and then goes into the different lives of both children.
Parents, friends and workers are introduced as life unfolds in this time period. Andrew’s biological mother passed away when he was an infant. He was adopted by kind and loving parents unable to have children of their own; Sophie’s mother is trapped in an abusive marriage of necessity to a cruel and harsh man who tries to molest his stepchildren. As these two meet and fall in love and we learn much about families, workers, and other characters that play an important part of development of the plot. The Sing Song Child is a genuine love story through and through.
