The response to our site relaunch has been gratifying indeed. It seems this website fills a void not only in my life but in those who stop by for a cuppa coffee, or beer if breakfast has already been served. You are welcome any time to stop by.
As a result of all this new traffic, I am now, for the first time in five years since we lit our first sparklers, progressed to Roman candles and now man the space station, at full capacity for editorial clients. I can manage four clients at any one time, based on giving them 20 hours each per month. (We are set up to handle virtually limitless numbers of publishing clients)
Therefore, there is now a waiting list for my editing services. If you would like me to personally work with you and your manuscript, I am booked until the 20th of October. I will still read any 30 pages you care to send me for feedback at no charge, and after September I intend to reduce my active editing list to three clients at any one time to allow me to devote time to the website and to other activities. Please send me a note if you would like to be added to the waiting list or have 30 pages that you would like me to read: firstname.lastname@example.org
My specialty is literary fiction. I am often asked, what IS literary fiction? Simple answer is the best: The Old Man and the Sea is not about fishing.
I am pleased that I was able to be part of Fred Rivera‘s success by editing and publishing Raw Man, which in June won the Isabelle Allende Miraposa award for Best First Fiction at the International Latino Book Awards held in San Francisco. Currently I am working with Pulitzer Prize-winner Jonathan Freedman on a re-work of his magical-realism novel Bounce, and I have some very promising work with several unknown but talented writers.
We are able to accept non-fiction, or genre other than literary fiction immediately, however. Science-fiction and thriller will be handled by that true Brit, Derek Thompson, who has been with us since the start. We have a small stable of editors to draw from for children’s and young adults books, or specialty books that require an editor to have a field of knowledge compatible to the author’s topics. Please send all inquiries to email@example.com
Thank you all for driving me nuts with so much work to do!
