Our contest ends July 15th. We will take a few days to post the stragglers, and then five finalists will be announced: Three will be selected by A Word with You Press staff (moi et mon fille!) and two selected at random.
Everyone who entered the contest or left a comment gets a vote. We will post a page just for that purpose.
Winner gets the goods, and, as punishment, will be the judge of the next contest to follow immediately.
Sound fair?
Thought so.

3 + 2 is greater than 2 + 3 if you believe in your entry’s quality and less if you lack parity. Tick, tick, tick, then tock, tock, math is all relative about stories written to win a clock.
A compassionate and wise woman asked me recently if I would not rather be a “fluffy little cloud” intending a mellow, peacefulness than I am. Have I ever tried to be mellow Ms. Olivia Newton-John? The answers are yes to both, but I am clueless as to how to reduce my Category 5 Hurricane yearnings and experience of life to such a happier tranquility.
What’s my point? As we approach the ending to “Again”, we have been treated to stories and poems which vary in intensity, but none of them in my opinion, so far, are as floaty-bouncy, fluffy little clouds nor completely mellow. Perhaps that is why I love this community of writers so much, because “home is where the heart is” even if it that heart is beheld in the eye of the hurricane. 5 is a grand number to revisit to decide this contest, but we are all winners and better for being apart of A Word With You Press.
Being of unsound, artistic mind and in the past rearranged body, I hereby announce having read and critiqued every single entry to date and will do so for the remainder, that I will post my 5-7 favorite authors who have offered stories and/or poems to “Again”. I do not envy anyone including myself when voting takes place. There are many brilliant works here and hopefully there will be more entered before the deadline.
Currently, if nothing impresses me more, here are my six choices of favorite authors in alphabetical order by first name not by preference. This is mere opinion, so I pray no one will take umbrage from my offering.
Diane Cresswell
Kenneth Weene
Kristy Webster
Kyle Katz
Laura Elizabeth
Parisianne Modert
I encourage you to develop your own favorites’ list before the announcement.
We are just past the deadline, I have read and reviewed every single entry and non-entry and my list is now seven potentials rather than six which are in first name alphabetical order:
Diane Cresswell
Kenneth Weene
Kristy Webster
Kyle Katz
Laura Elizabeth
Laura Girardeau
Parisianne Modert
If I had to choose only 3, I would choose as my favorites in this contest:
Kristy Webster
Laura Elizabeth
Parisianne Modert
If I could choose all of the 5, I would add:
Kenneth Weene
Kyle Katz
Who are your own favorites?
Other than adding Sal Buttaci to make eight favorites in this contest from my previous seven and now understanding who Laura Elizabeth is my choices for the top three and five remain the same.
I wish everyone who has entered this contest the best and challenge them to list their favorites in advance of the voting.
